STI Group: Hungaropack Sustainability Award

The sturdy carry pack was inspired by the product shape and hexagon used in Continental's branding. With its natural kraft paper surface and striking black graphics, the pack catches the eye at the POS. A practical handle is integrated into the design so that the product can be presented standing on the shelf or on a Eurohook and carried home with ease.

As the ideal tread and softness of the tyre varies depending on the terrain and driving style, it was important for Continental that customers can clearly see and even feel the tyres without opening or damaging the packaging. The large window cut-out invites touching and ensures that the selected tyre fits the mountain biker's needs.

Although the material-saving production requires complex and special folding and gluing processes, these processes could be automated. The result is a cost-effective, practical package that can be quickly assembled, filled and stacked. Moreover, one packaging design can be used for all types of tyres.
