For packaging that needs a grease or moisture barrier, we apply innovative coatings instead of a conventional PE (polyethylene) lining. These water-based, recyclable coatings meet the stringent requirements for direct food contact so can be used for to-go, fresh and frozen products, as well as being effective for products such as detergents, oiled tools and spare parts.
Our aim is to minimise the amount of plastic used in packaging and improve its recyclability. In contrast to a full-surface PE lining, our barrier coatings can be spot-applied only where needed. During the recycling process, the coating better dissolves from the paper or cardboard surface to increase the fibre yield.
As every product has unique needs when it comes to protection and barrier properties, we define and test appropriate material and coating combinations following careful consultation with each customer. This ensures that our tailored recyclable or biodegradable packaging solutions meet compliance requirements.
