American printing and writing paper manufacturer Sylvamo posted better results in the third quarter of 2025 than in the previous quarter, but its figures were still significantly below those of the same quarter last year.

Sales volume increased and results also improved. However, compared to the previous year, the balance sheet was lower both for the quarter and for the first nine months. The European division posted an operating loss of $21 million. Lower sales prices for paper and pulp, especially in Europe, had a negative impact on profits.

Sylvamo produces wood-free uncoated papers and is represented in Europe with two paper mills in Saillat and Nymölla. Investments are being made in France. Among other things, there is a project with the energy company Verso Energy to produce sustainable aviation fuel from biogenic carbon dioxide.
