Volga JSC became the winner of the Exporter of the Year-2021 competition in the industrial field

The Company is recognized as a leader among Nizhny Novgorod producers of non-primary non-energy goods in the category Big Business. Awards to the finalists of the regional competition Exporter of the Year were presented on May 24 in Nizhny Novgorod during international forum Export Time.

The ceremony was attended by Deputy Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region Andrey Sanosyan, Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Nizhny Novgorod region Evgeny Lyulin, Minister of Industry, Trade and Entrepreneurship of the region Maxim Cherkasov. Valery Yarmilko, Deputy Director General for Interaction with Public Authorities, participated in the event on behalf of Volga JSC.

"Our business has seriously increased non-primary non-energy exports in recent years, and every company that has received the status of Exporter of the Year, deserves it without doubt. Under the current pressure of sanctions, companies are doing serious work to redirect their export flows and solve logistical issues. Our business infrastructure, trade representations in other countries, and business associations provide them with the necessary assistance. I have no doubt that our comprehensive approach will deliver us a lot of benefits" said Andrei Sanosyan.

The Exporter of the Year contest is aimed at celebrating the best practices of export development and replicating successful Nizhny Novgorod cases.

When determining the winners of the Exporter of the Year-2021 contest, the expert commission took into account the volume of exports, the availability of international certificates and trademarks registered abroad, the presence of representative offices abroad, the quality of the company's website in foreign languages, positive publications in international media, as well as participation in international exhibitions.

It is worth noting that the winners of the competition will receive additional points when participating in the federal stage of the Exporter of the Year competition.

– On behalf of the Company and on my own behalf, I would like to express my gratitude to the members of the jury of the Exporter of the Year competition for the high appreciation of the work performed by the entire team of our enterprise and success in export activities, – said Sergey Pondar, General Director of Volga JSC. – Volga continues its ongoing development, increases production volumes, enters new foreign markets, and implements large investment projects. In our export field, we are proactive in using the mechanisms and supporting measures that the regional Government, the Russian Export Center, and the Ministry of Industry and Trade offer to business. According to the results of work in 2021, the Company's revenue from sales of products increased to RUB 13 billion, and net profit – up to RUB 2.7 billion. The Factory's products were supplied to 67 countries of the world. Along with the domestic market, the key markets for us include China, India, Africa, and Southeast Asia. In 2021, we increased the share of direct sales of packaging types of paper in the Chinese market to 45% of the total volume in this region."
