Weig Plans Price Increases for Recycled Cardboard Starting in October

In a statement issued in early September, the cardboard manufacturer cited, among other things, increased costs for energy, waste paper, chemicals, and logistics as reasons for the increases. Weig does not specify a specific amount. The manufacturer of folding boxboard explains that the specific implications will be communicated individually to affected customers within the framework of their respective contractual agreements.

The decision to adjust prices is necessary to ensure the long-term efficiency of production as well as delivery and product quality.

Weig has a production capacity of approximately 550,000 metric metric tons per year of recycled cardboard at its two cardboard mills in Mayen and Annweiler. Its product portfolio includes GD and GT cardboard as well as GD liner. In addition, Weig also manufactures gypsum board in Mayen.
