News General news
Wepa, the German manufacturer of tissue and hygiene products, has shut down the older tissue machine at its Bridgend plant in the UK as planned. It is to be replaced by a modern line with a capacity of 70,000 jato, which consumes less water and energy and can use a higher proportion of recycled paper as raw material.
A company spokesperson confirmed to EUWID that the new tissue machine is scheduled to begin operations in 2027. According to the company, this project is part of its ongoing efforts to modernize the site.
According to earlier reports, Wepa also plans to install two processing lines and modernize the entire palletizing area at the site.
