Mimaki Germany, the leading manufacturer of inkjet printing and cutting technologies, will be exhibiting at Fachpack 2022 (27 - 29 September, Nuremberg, Hall 7A / Stand 335). Stand partner is the authorised Mimaki dealer Ernst Mendel GmbH, headquartered in Nuremberg. Both companies are experienced participants in this renowned packaging trade fair and will be showcasing their solutions in line with this year's leading theme "Transition in packaging".

"The packaging industry is currently going through many changes. Be it the increasing environmental awareness or the consumer behaviour based on increasing personalisation (limited collections) and e-commerce. At Fachpack, we will show how we as a machine manufacturer can contribute by presenting the possibilities of 'design-print-cut-on-demand'," explains Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director of Mimaki Deutschland GmbH.

"Mimaki's digital printing solutions are helpful from different angles," adds Jörg Geyer, Managing Director of Ernst Mendel GmbH. "Digital data creation enables us to implement production as required. In many companies, it is possible to order quantities as small as one piece. This not only leads to an expansion of the product portfolio, but also to savings in materials and storage space. In addition, the printing method based on UV-LED technology is very ecological. The LED lamps used have a much longer service life and consume significantly less electricity compared to mercury vapour lamps. The low temperature (about 30 degrees) supports direct printing on various materials without deforming or even damaging them."

Visitors to the stand will see the following machines in action:

  • JFX200-2513EX - UV-LED flatbed printer with max. print area of 2,500 x 1,300 mm. Equipped with CMYK, clear varnish and white, cardboard boxes with different data are printed directly. The ink dries immediately thanks to UV-LED technology. Creasing and cutting are done with the CF2-0912RC-S flatbed cutting plotter. The print file is created individually using packQ from CloudLab, a 3D packaging editor. Further data preparation is done by Mimaki's RIP software RasterLink 7, which also has functions such as easy creation of variable data with different numbers, names, photos, etc.
  • CF2-0912RC-S - Flatbed cutting plotter with max. cutting area of 900 x 1,200 mm. Various knives and creasing tools are used for precise cutting and folding of packages.
  • CG-60AR - A hybrid cutting plotter for roll and sheet media. At Fachpack, Mimaki will present the smallest version (max. cutting width 600 mm). In combination with a sheet-fed table, the CG-AR series can cut and crease thick paper up to A3 format.
  • UJF-7151 plusll - UV-LED flatbed printer with max. print area of 710 x 510 mm. Generally UV prints appear matt and clear varnish is an aid for extra gloss. This model can make the print shine with pinpoint accuracy with the new Glossy function. The result is visible on directly printed business card cases, which are welcome for your own tests.
  • CJV330-160 - Roll printer with integrated cutting function. Max. Print width of 1,610 mm. The Print & Cut machine is an all-rounder for label printing and cutting. In addition, the new XY cutter can cut the print in X and Y direction and, for example, release two posters placed next to each other from the roll directly after printing.

Takeuchi concludes: "The leading theme of Fachpack, 'Transition in packaging', hits the zeitgeist exactly. We look forward to talking with visitors about how we can support them in this transforming world."
