With the new Fullmatic 53 and Protenha 76 coating machines, FKS/Komfi, in collaboration with GEPA Coating Solutions, is expanding its portfolio to include coating machines with UV and dispersion coatings as well as primers. Following our successful launch at the Hunkeler Innovation Days 2025 and the official expansion of our partnership with Komfi in the field of coating, the next important step is now taking place: FKS and GEPA Coating Solutions will operate jointly in the market in the future. With Gerhard Palinkas, we have an absolute industry expert with decades of experience in the field of coating at our side. GEPA customers will benefit from the nationwide FKS sales and service network with short response times and high availability. We are thus combining technical expertise, product know-how, and customer proximity into a strong overall package for FKS/Komfi coating machines, including the Fullmatic and Protenha series.

The systems are suitable for digitally and offset printed products such as photo books, greeting cards, calendars, folding boxes, other packaging, and much more. The Fullmatic 53 and Protenha 76 are so robust and versatile that they fit perfectly into a wide variety of production facilities, from single-shift to three-shift operations, with small sample productions to high-volume orders.

Both systems are characterized by a wide range of formats up to B2 or B2 Landscape (Protenha 76) and paper thicknesses from 115 to 800 μm. Thinner substrates can be processed particularly well with sheet overlap. Depending on the application, the printed products can be finished with UV or water-based coatings, including primers. The built-in touchscreen and intuitive control panel allow the operator to adjust settings for format, speed, infrared lamp intensity, and UV lamp intensity. This enables the systems to have short setup times and require minimal personnel. An integrated job memory also allows frequently recurring jobs to be easily recalled.

The innovatively designed machines enable high-quality and efficient coating of printed products. A unique sheet travel monitoring system is integrated for convenient and safe operation. Thanks to an integrated double sheet control system, paper jams and the resulting waste are reduced to a minimum. An air knife in the coating unit ensures reliable passage of thin sheets through the machine. The IR hot-air dryer included as standard guarantees even distribution of the UV coating before curing or is used to dry water-based coatings.

An optional sheet preheater improves the flow properties of the coating and its adhesion to the sheet, thus ensuring high-quality coating and, consequently, effective protection of the products.
