The party horn consists of a mouthpiece containing a membrane. Attached to the mouthpiece is a hose, closed at the end, with a steel band coil spring inside. The hose is usually made of paper, which is plain, colorful or printed with a pattern.

Due to the air pressure created when blowing into the mouthpiece, the tube fills with air and unrolls straight. At the same time, a sound is produced, the volume of which varies according to the force with which it is blown into the mouthpiece. Due to the spiral spring, the tube rolls up again automatically as soon as no more air is blown into it and the air pressure decreases again.

Party horns are a popular and inexpensive children's toy, such as a small gift for the guests of children's birthday parties. They also serve as joke articles, such as for parties, at carnivals and New Year's Eve celebrations. And New Year's Eve is coming up soon....
